DESCRIPTION

We propose you one of the most beautiful routes of Catalonia: Cavalls de Vent trekking traverse.

This trail can start at any of the 8 guarded huts of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. As it is a circular route, the Cavalls de Vent trek can be done in both directions of travel.

With over 80 km of itinerary we will walk between 902 meters of altitude in River Bastareny Valley and 2.513 meters, accumulating a positive altitude change of 4.800 m. Moreover, that height lets you admire a wide variety of ecosystems, emblematic summits and places such as:

• Tosa and Penyes Altes del Moixeró summits

• North face of the Cadí

• Pedregosa and Gisclareny hills

• The Pedraforca

• The Gresolet umbra

• The Empedrats

• Bastareny and Gréixer Valleys

Besides these incredible landscapes, during this 7-day Cavalls de Vent hike you will enjoy many scattered hamlets and old buildings full of history. Among them you will find the Gresolet sanctuary, the hermitage of San Martin del Puig and the church of Sant Andreu de Gréixer.
