DESCRIPTION
Veleta ('Weather vane') is the third highest peak of the Spanish mainland and the second highest in the Sierra Nevada with 3.394 metres (11,135 ft)
The mountain can be seen from the city of Granada.
The 'Corral de la Veleta' or 'Corral del Veleta glacier', at 37° N the southernmost glacier in Europe, disappeared in 1913.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Hoya de la Mora (2.500 m) – Veleta Peak (3.394 m)
We start the ascent to the Veleta peak summit from 'Hoya de la Mora', passing trought 'Las posiciones del Veleta' untill the top where we will enjoy the amazing landscape with the Mulhacen and the Alcazaba at your fingertips.
